Davido Clarifies Alleged Attack on Adeleke’s Convoy

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has dismissed reports that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s convoy was attacked at the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji.
Reports had claimed that hoodlums engaged security personnel attached to the governor’s convoy in a gun battle at the palace on Wednesday, shortly after Adeleke received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and visited the traditional ruler to celebrate his electoral victory.
However, Davido, in a post on his verified X account, described the report as false. He acknowledged that a fight occurred outside the palace but said it had nothing to do with the governor or his entourage.
Davido stated that the people of Osun remain supportive of Governor Adeleke.
Adeleke recently secured re-election as Osun State governor, polling 511,067 votes to defeat APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who recorded 444,815 votes. Najeem Salaam of the ADC finished third with 17,180 votes.
The clarification from Davido has therefore cast doubt on earlier reports alleging that the governor’s convoy was directly involved in the reported confrontation.
