“I’d rather be late…” – Lady recounts disturbing encounter after stranger offered her $300 during ride

A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to recount an unsettling experience she had while heading to work, a moment she described as a hard lesson she will never forget.

Sharing her story on Instagram, she explained that she was running late when a stranger offered to give her a ride.

Since her workplace was only a few minutes away and located within a residential area, she agreed, hoping to save time.

She revealed that the ride lasted less than five minutes before things took an unexpected and disturbing turn.

“The ride was only 5 minutes and this man offered me $300 to make him happy inside the car,” she said.

The lady explained that she stayed calm and played along, not because she was comfortable, but because she wanted to get to work safely.

She added that her only focus was getting out of the situation without escalating it or putting herself at risk.

Her story has since sparked reactions online, with many women sharing similar experiences.

One user wrote, “Accepting rides from strangers is really dangerous,” while another added, “She stayed calm just to get out safely. That’s survival.”

Reflecting on the incident, the lady said the experience taught her a painful lesson.

According to her, she would rather arrive late to work than ever put herself in a situation where she feels unsafe or disrespected again.
