Nigeria to Host Inaugural Africa International Christian Film Festival in June

The Africa International Christian Film Festival (AICFF) will make its debut from June 3–6, 2026, in Abuja, Nigeria, organizers announced today.

The continental festival aims to elevate Christian cinema across Africa by providing a platform for faith-based filmmakers, while advancing production standards, professional development, distribution networks, and market opportunities for Christian content throughout the region.

Festival attendees can expect film screenings featuring works from African and international Christian filmmakers, industry panel discussions, professional development workshops, and a Christian Film Market designed to connect creators with distributors, broadcasters, and streaming platforms.

Filmmakers from Africa and internationally are invited to submit feature films, documentaries, short films, animations, and other faith-inspired content that demonstrate biblical values, storytelling excellence, and cultural resonance.

Selected films will gain exposure to international festival partners, Christian media networks, distributors, streaming services, and faith-based organizations across the industry.

The festival’s launch comes as Africa’s Christian population and creative economy continue their rapid expansion, with AICFF positioning the continent as an emerging center for global Christian cinema.

Submissions are currently open through FilmFreeway at www.filmfreeway.com/AICFFA, with a deadline of March 31, 2026.
