Kano governor officially rejoins APC

Abba Yusuf, governor of Kano State, has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Yusuf made the announcement on Monday during an event at the Coronation Hall of the Kano Government House.
The Kano governor was formally received into the APC by a host of party leaders, including former national chairman of the APC and ex-Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; deputy president of the senate, Senator Barau Jibrin; Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata; and several other APC figures.
In his speech, Yusuf explained that his decision to return to the APC was driven by the desire to work more closely with the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
Yusuf had originally been elected governor in 2023 on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), but he resigned from the party earlier this year, alongside several members of the Kano State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives.
