Dangote Refinery Adjusts Fuel Prices After Festive Season, Maintains Daily Supply of 50 Million Litres
Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has announced a price adjustment for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) following the conclusion of the festive season, while maintaining its commitment to consistent nationwide fuel supply.
The refinery had temporarily reduced prices during the recent holiday period to ease the financial burden on Nigerians during a time of increased household expenses. This intervention represented the second consecutive year that Dangote absorbed significant costs in support of consumers—providing logistics assistance in 2024 and implementing price cuts in 2025.
However, the company noted that many retail stations failed to pass the reduced prices to consumers at the pump, preventing Nigerians from enjoying the intended benefits.
With the festive period now over, PMS prices have been adjusted to what the refinery describes as sustainable levels aimed at ensuring long-term market stability and affordability. The current gantry price stands at N799 per litre, while MRS retail outlets are selling at N839 per litre.
David Bird, Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, confirmed that the facility continues to supply approximately 50 million litres of PMS daily to the domestic market, with distribution and evacuation operations running smoothly across the country.
Bird highlighted the refinery’s operational flexibility, which allows it to process various crude oil grades and intermediate feedstocks. This capability enables uninterrupted PMS production even during scheduled maintenance periods, ensuring stable domestic supply.
As Nigeria’s primary domestic refiner, Dangote Petroleum Refinery positions itself as a buffer against import-related price fluctuations and external supply disruptions, serving as a stabilising presence in the downstream petroleum sector.
The company reiterated its focus on delivering energy security, price stability, and sustained value to the Nigerian market.
