“Be Ready for the Worst” — Primate Ayodele Warns Gov Yusuf Over Second-Term Bid
The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a warning to Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf over his ambition to secure a second term in office.
Primate Ayodele prophesied that former Governor Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, widely regarded as Yusuf’s political godfather, would do everything in his power to prevent Yusuf from returning to power.
This comes just days after Yusuf defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a move that has strained his relationship with Kwankwaso.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Oluwatosin Oshi, Primate Ayodele said the former governor is prepared to act decisively, financially, spiritually, politically, and legally, to block Yusuf’s re-election.
“Governor Abba Yusuf’s second term is facing serious challenges in Kano State. His defection to the APC is likely to create political chaos, which must be carefully managed.
“Rabiu Kwankwaso will do everything possible to stand against Yusuf’s second-term ambition. The governor must be ready for the worst,” he warned.
Primate Ayodele also predicted rising political tension in the state and urged the federal government to monitor the situation closely.
“There will be a serious political crisis in Kano. The federal government must pay attention because I foresee events escalating if caution is not exercised,” he added.
Speaking on the broader political landscape, Primate Ayodele cautioned President Bola Tinubu against placing full trust in politicians defecting to the APC, saying some are motivated by personal interests rather than loyalty to the party or the president.
“President Tinubu shouldn’t trust everyone joining the APC. Some have ulterior motives and will act against him in his re-election bid,” he said.
