“Your Husband’s Word Is Final”- Zambian Politician Advises Married Women

• She noted, however, that women can still influence outcomes by wisely negotiating with their spouses at the right time.

Zambian politician, Hon. Given Katuta Mwelwa, has advised married women to recognize that their husbands hold the ultimate authority in family matters.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, September 3, she explained that while men have the final say, women can still influence decisions by applying wisdom and negotiating with their husbands when they are in a favorable mood.

“HUSBAND’S WORD IS FINAL. Dear married women, this is just a gentle reminder that your husband’s word is final as the head of the house. HOWEVER, you as the neck of the house, you can find your space in your ” husband’s final word” by negotiating thus giving other suggestions politely and with respect after he has eaten your food. Wait on him when he is in his best mood and then boom with your God given negotiating skills like our mother Eve in the garden of Eden,” she wrote.

In other news….The Federal Government has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, a public holiday to mark Eid-ul-Mawlid, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on behalf of the Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

In his message, the minister congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and abroad, urging them to emulate the Prophet’s virtues of peace, love, humility, tolerance, and compassion, which he said are vital for nation-building.

He also called on Nigerians of all faiths to pray for peace, security, and stability in the country, while supporting efforts toward unity and development.

“The celebration of Eid-ul-Mawlid offers us yet another opportunity to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, promote peaceful coexistence, and imbibe the Prophet’s teachings of mutual respect and selfless service to humanity,” Dr. Tunji-Ojo said.

He further encouraged citizens to remain law-abiding, security-conscious, and supportive of government policies, while wishing Muslims a joyous celebration.
