You will reap what you sow — Shehu Sani warns politicians over abuse of power

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has cautioned politicians against the abuse of power, stressing that the consequences of their actions while in office will follow them after leaving.

In a post shared on his verified Facebook page, Sani reminded political leaders that power is fleeting and should be exercised with caution.

“We told the leaders of yesterday, we are telling today’s leaders, and will tell tomorrow’s leaders that power is transient. What you plant in power, you will reap out of power,” he wrote.

He warned that no one can “plant thorns while in power and expect to reap roses afterwards,” adding that life after power is much longer than life in office.

According to him, many who act like “gods” while in authority often end up vulnerable and at the mercy of others once they lose power.

“By the might of Allah, we survived the cruelty of power. We pray you never find yourself in the jaws of power. Ameen,” he concluded.
