Video of May D performing in the trenches sparks reactions

The clip shows the music star performing to a small group of young boys at an unidentified football pitch in Lagos.

What has drawn the most attention, however, is not just his presence but the unusual setting and audience.

May D, famed for hit songs like Ile Ijo and Ibadi, was seen entertaining a small crowd in a location many fans considered unexpected for an artiste of his calibre.

It was opined that given his age, 40, and his length of years in the industry, he shouldn’t have been seen performing in such a lowly scene.
