Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Wednesday for a 10-day working vacation in Europe, his office has said.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said in a statement that the leave is part of Tinubu’s 2025 annual vacation.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja today, September 4, to commence a working vacation in Europe as part of his 2025 annual leave,” Onanuga said.
He added that Tinubu would spend time in France and the United Kingdom before returning to Nigeria.
“The vacation will last 10 working days,” the presidential aide noted.
Tinubu, 72, has faced growing domestic challenges, including economic hardship, a weakening currency, and insecurity across parts of the country.
No details were provided on whether the president will hold official meetings during his stay in Europe.
