The police command in Katsina says it has bursted a seven-man syndicate that specialises in shop breaking and armed robbery in the state.
The command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abubakar Aliyu told newsmen on Monday in Katsina that the hoodlums were apprehended in their hideout at Shararrar Pipe Quarters, Katsina.
Aliyu said that the men, who were between 19 and 34 years of age, were arrested following a complaint at Sabon Gari Police Division, that the suspects were allegedly looting a shop behind Katsina Central Market.
He said the command’s detectives swung into action and subsequently tracked the suspects to their hideout and arrested them.
Aliyu said that the police recovered two cutlasses, two long sharp knives, two clubs, one iron and a black beret.
He said that the suspects would be charged to court after investigation. (NAN)( www.nannews.ng)
