Ibrahim Chatta, veteran Nollywood actor, has lost another child.

The 54-year-old actor shared the heartbreaking news in a post on his Instagram page on Saturday, though he did not reveal details surrounding the son’s passing.

Sharing a photo of his late son, Chatta wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ.”

Following the announcement, his colleagues and fans trooped to the comment section with messages of condolence.

This is not the first tragedy Ibrahim Chatta has faced.

In June, the veteran actor revealed in an interview that his first child — a baby girl — died as a result of poverty and lack of access to medical care.

“My first child is not Malik. The first child I had died. My first child was buried in a crate of Coke, the old wooden crate of Coke,” he said, recalling how he trekked across Lagos in a desperate attempt to raise money for treatment but received help too late.

Ibrahim Chatta’s son’s death comes just days after veteran actress Peju Ogunmola also lost her only child, Ayomikun. The young man, who was in his early 30s, passed away in Ibadan earlier this week.
