JUST IN: Wike, Anyanwu, Other PDP Leaders Meet in Abuja
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Monday hosted a delegation of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders at his official residence in Abuja.
The meeting, it is understood was convened to deliberate on the state of the PDP.
Those in attendance included the party’s National Secretary, Senator Sam Anyanwu; former Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu; and former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom. Also present were the Minority Leader of the 10th Rivers State House of Assembly, Kingsley Chinda, the Speaker of the Rivers Assembly, and several other lawmakers from the state.
The development comes after the PDP announced that its 2027 presidential ticket had been zoned to the South. Notably, Wike and his allies were absent from a key southern stakeholders’ meeting where the zoning formula was first deliberated.
