Eid-el-Maulid: “Join hands to pray for peace” – Peter Obi tells Nigerians
Peter Obi, the 2027 presidential candidate for the Labour Party has felicitated with the Muslim faithful on the celebration of Eid-el-Maulid.
Obi in a statement on X, extended his felicitations to all the Muslim communities across the country.
He said, “Today, we commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), a revered figure whose teachings emphasise peace, love, humility, tolerance, and compassion. These values are essential in building a united and progressive nation.
“As we celebrate Maulud Nabiyy, let us reflect on the Prophet’s virtues and strive to emulate them in our daily lives. May this occasion inspire us to promote peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and selfless service to humanity,” Obi wrote.
He also urged all Nigerians, irrespective of their religion to join hands to pray for peace and unity in the country.
“I urge all Nigerians, regardless of their faith, to join hands in praying for the peace, security, and stability of our country. Let us work together towards a brighter future for Nigeria, where everyone can thrive and reach their full potential.
“Wishing you a joyous and peaceful Eid al-Mawlid celebration,” he said.
