BREAKING: Tinubu Reverses NTA Shake-Up, Recalls DG
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the recall of Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), reversing recent changes in the management of the state-owned broadcaster.
Dembos, first appointed in October 2023, had briefly vacated the position following an earlier shake-up. With the new directive, he will now return to complete his three-year tenure.
Also recalled is Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, the Executive Director of News, who was appointed in 2024. He has been directed to resume office and complete his tenure, which runs until 2027.
The President’s decision sets aside earlier appointments of a new director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises.
The directive was contained in a statement on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
