2027: Jonathan can run again if he chooses – Ex-president’s cousin
Engr. Azibaola Robert, cousin to former president Goodluck Jonathan, has declared that the ex-leader is constitutionally and legally qualified to contest the 2027 elections.
Robert made the statement in response to Barr. Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation, and Chidi Odinkalu, a human rights lawyer.
The duo had argued that Jonathan is ineligible to run in the 2027 polls.
In a Facebook post, Robert dismissed contrary legal opinions, insisting Jonathan remains eligible under the law.
His words: “GEJ is 100% constitutionally and legally qualified to contest if he chooses to. If he chooses not to yield to his overwhelming calls to contest, it would not be because he is not qualified.
“Your screwed, unsolicited legal view is not of any concern in his bucket list, and it will never be. Don’t waste your precious times further dwelling on this.”
Robert stressed that his comment was not a confirmation of Jonathan’s candidacy.
