Nigerian activist and outspoken commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM) has sparked intense online debate after criticizing Peter Obi and other prominent figures involved in the newly formed African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.

In a viral video released on Thursday, VDM accused key political leaders including Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Rotimi Amaechi, David Mark, and Rauf Aregbesola of being responsible for many of Nigeria’s current challenges, claiming they are now attempting to rebrand themselves as saviors.

VDM argued, “They all played a role in creating the problems we face today. Their coalition is simply a response to being sidelined by the current government. Nothing more.”

He singled out Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, alleging that El-Rufai joined the alliance out of personal dissatisfaction after feeling betrayed by President Tinubu’s administration.

“El-Rufai openly said Tinubu betrayed him, so now he’s teaming up with Peter Obi. But if this coalition fails to meet his expectations, he’ll just betray them as well. They’re all driven by self-interest,” VDM stated.

Though Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, is often seen by many as a beacon of hope and integrity, VDM questioned whether Obi genuinely stands apart from the political elites he is now partnering with.

He said, “We’ll have to wait and see what role Obi is offered vice president or presidential candidate? Atiku won’t accept being VP again, and it’s unlikely he’ll hand that position to Obi either. I wouldn’t be surprised if Obi gets sidelined. They’re all selfish.”

VDM dismissed the coalition as a recycled political alliance that offers no real solutions for Nigerians.

“If their intention was truly to help Nigeria, they would have done so when they were in power. Look at the state of the regions they governed,” he concluded.

@NaijaPikinReal:”VDM no lie sha. But Peter Obi should never be in the same sentence with Atiku and El-Rufai.”

@TalkActive101:”We want new faces, not a remix of the same people who’ve ruled since 1999.”

@ObidientQueen:”Peter Obi joined them to save Nigeria, not because of position. VDM should calm down!”
