Barau FC Arrives in Asaba Ahead of NNL Super Eight Playoffs

Barau Football Club of Kano State has arrived in Asaba, Delta State, ahead of the 2025 Nigerian National League (NNL) Super Eight playoffs, as the team seeks promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The club touched down on Wednesday with a 32-man squad accompanied by over 15 officials, including the coaching staff.
In a statement by the club’s Media Officer, Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, he confirmed the team’s arrival and their preparedness for the competition.
“We are in Asaba with full determination. The players and the technical crew are focused on giving their best to secure our place in the NPFL,” Gwale said.
The NNL Super Eight, scheduled to hold from July 5 to 12, 2025, at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, will determine the four teams that will advance to the top tier for the 2025/26 season.
Barau FC will compete against Warri Wolves, Osun United, Crown FC, Kun Khalifa FC of Owerri, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi, Yobe Desert Stars, and Doma United of Gombe.
The tournament will also decide the overall champion of the 2024/25 NNL campaign.
Speaking further, Gwale added, “The boys are motivated and ready. We know what is at stake and we will give everything to bring pride to Kano.”
Barau FC has drawn attention this season for their strong performances, and supporters will be watching closely as the club takes the next step in Asaba.
