Atiku: My Fight for Justice, Good Governance Will Bring Real Change with ADC Coalition

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar says his push for justice and good governance, in alliance with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, aims to deliver real change in Nigeria.

In a post on his X handle on Saturday, Atiku said he would continue to challenge election rigging and failed leadership. His comments came after a meeting with stakeholders from Gombe State, led by former minister and senator Idris Abdullahi.

“Yesterday, I vowed to stand against the stealing of elections and oppose bad governance,” Atiku stated.

He blamed the country’s problems on poor leadership, despite Nigeria’s natural and human resources. He said the coalition formed under the ADC is focused on changing the situation.

“The coalition of opposition leaders under the umbrella of the ADC would work assiduously to usher in a positive change that will transform the lives of our people,” he said.

Atiku also commented on the leadership of the ADC coalition.

“The quality of the interim leadership shows that we are ready to bring integrity to the process and give Nigerians the responsible leadership they deserve,” he noted.

He thanked the Gombe stakeholders for their support and decision to join the coalition.

“I am further inspired by the Gombe stakeholders’ pledge of total support and loyalty to the decision of the coalition by joining the ADC,” he said.

“The group reminded me that I laid the foundation for the development of Gombe when I supported the election of Danjuma Goje as governor in 2003.”

Atiku and others in the opposition have adopted the ADC as their platform for the 2027 general elections. They say it will serve as a common front for democratic change.
