A British woman has emotionally recounted how her Nigerian husband tragically passed away while secretly visiting his girlfriend in Lagos after lying to her that he was traveling to Northern Ireland for a two-week lecture.

Sharing her story in a series of emotional posts on X (formerly Twitter), the woman revealed that her husband had told her he was headed to Northern Ireland for a work seminar. However, days later, she received a shocking phone call informing her that he had died in Nigeria after a fatal car accident.

“My husband told me he was travelling to Northern Island for a lecture which is to last for two weeks,” she said tearfully in the post. “But then I got a call saying he was in a hospital in Lagos, fighting for his life. I couldn’t believe it.”

“My husband flew from UK to Nigeria just to cheat and he died there. My husband and I were married for 15 good years and we had 3 kids. I’m a British woman, we met here in the UK, we fell in love and got married.”

The grieving widow recalled that her husband often traveled to Nigeria once or twice a year, and she had accompanied him on some of those trips. But she was unaware of any infidelity.

“He kept in touch through video calls, especially when he said he was back at the hotel. But one day, he didn’t answer. I kept calling, and eventually someone picked up and said he had been in an accident.”

Later, her husband’s younger brother broke the news he had died. “I asked, ‘Wasn’t he in Northern Ireland?’ My in-law said no he was in Lagos the whole time.”

That was when the devastating truth hit. “My husband lied to me. He flew from the UK to Nigeria just to cheat and he died there. I rushed to Nigeria to see things for myself.”
