Al-Istiqama University Mourns Aminu Dantata, Lauds His Educational Support

Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, has mourned the passing of businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji (Dr) Aminu Alhassan Dantata, acknowledging his role in supporting education and humanitarian causes.
In a statement signed by Malam Hassan Abdurrahman, Academic Secretary, on behalf of the Sit-In Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulhadi Sale Kumurya, the university said Dantata’s death is a loss to Kano State and the country.
“Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, with profound sorrow, announces the passing of a distinguished statesman, business mogul, and philanthropist, Alhaji (Dr) Aminu Alhassan Dantata,” the statement read.
The university noted that Dantata supported its early development. “His legacy is especially felt at Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, where he sponsored 100 less-privileged students at the university’s inception, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and academic advancement.”
The statement described Dantata as “more than a business icon — he was a mentor to many and a staunch supporter of education.”
“On behalf of the Sit-In Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulhadi Sale Kumurya, the Governing Council, Senate, Management, and entire University Community, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, his associates, the Government and good people of Kano State, and the nation as a whole,” the statement said.
The university added that tributes from across the country reflect Dantata’s contributions to national development.
“His impact on humanity and nation-building will remain indelible in the annals of history,” the statement added.
