Gov. Yusuf to Lead Kano Pilgrims to 2025 Hajj, Vows Full Support

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced that he will accompany Kano State pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking during a Hajj demonstration in Kano, he said the pilgrimage is more than a trip—it is an act of worship that requires “dignity, discipline, and devotion.”

“This is not a mere journey; it is an act of worship. I will personally lead the Kano pilgrims to ensure a smooth, coordinated, and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience,” he said.

According to his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Yusuf also announced support plans for the 2025 pilgrims. These include more officials to assist pilgrims from their arrival to their stay at various locations in Saudi Arabia.

“We have mobilized dedicated teams to cater for the needs of our pilgrims—from airport to accommodation, and throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia. Our goal is to make this year’s pilgrimage the smoothest and safest in Kano’s history,” the Governor stated.

He also told the pilgrims to behave well, especially the youth and women, and to respect Kano’s image.

“To our youth, I urge you to avoid any act that could bring dishonor or disaster to our state. As for our women, remember that Kano women are known for their decency. Represent us with pride, respect yourselves, and uphold the dignity of our culture and religion,” he urged.

He warned against drug use and immoral behavior, saying these go against the purpose of Hajj and Islamic teachings.

Yusuf also spoke about cleanliness and discipline: “Cleanliness is part of faith. I urge you all to keep your rooms and environments tidy while in Saudi Arabia.”
