Women’s Africa Cup of Nations rescheduled amid busy calendar

In response to a crowded schedule filled with various women’s football events, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the rescheduling of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Originally slated for this year, the tournament will now take place in Morocco from July 5, 2025, to July 26, 2025.
The adjustment aims to accommodate the packed calendar and ensure optimal participation and preparation for the teams involved.
The decision reflects CAF’s commitment to the development and prominence of women’s football on the continent.
By moving the tournament to 2025, CAF aims to alleviate scheduling conflicts and provide a more focused platform for showcasing the talent and competition in African women’s football.
In addition to this change, CAF has also scheduled the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations for the men’s teams. The tournament will be held in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. This period, traditionally associated with the Africa Cup of Nations, aligns with the broader international football calendar and aims to minimize disruptions to club commitments for the participating players.
