Babcock advises students on moral, spiritual values

Babcock Academy has said moral and spiritual virtues are paramount to achieving academic excellence.

It was stated during its 10th anniversary ceremony, which was held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Speaking during the ceremony, President and Vice-Chancellor, of Babcock University, Prof. Ademola Adetayo commended the staff and workers in the academy while reminding the public of the school’s mission.

According to him, “Moral and spiritual virtues with integrity and academic excellence are the unique traits of Adventist Education.”

He encouraged the students and workers to embrace integrity as a core moral.

The principal, Mr Gabriel Fasanu, said the academy would continue to produce spiritual and top students with academic excellence through its Adventist Education.

“Babcock Academy offers holistic education (best education) which is helping the students lay a firm foundation for learning to achieve excellence.”

“This moment of celebration is a time to honour the school’s history, achievements and the community it has built and the instruments that have contributed and are still contributing to the growth of the school.”

The Principal also shared the academy’s successes in academics, student empowerment, human capital and infrastructures including libraries, water and installation of the closed circuit television providing security for the academy.

Also speaking, the pioneer principal, and the Vice-President of the Academy, Bolanle Adebawojo, said,

“All the staff carried heavy loads but one interesting thing is that they all did it joyfully, congratulations everybody, and long lives Babcock Academy ,” she said.

During the ceremony, the academy unveiled and commissioned various projects including a public toilet, the foundation of a new building, a borehole, a waiting stand and a new sign board.

The anniversary speaker, Ngozi Nwaogwugwu, said, “I challenge everyone, as we celebrate the faithfulness of God, to make a fresh commitment to be the hands and feet, through which God would achieve His purpose in Babcock Academy.”
