Winning Time tells the story of the iconic Los Angeles Lakers NBA basketball dynasty from the 1970s and 1980s, and after a successful first and second season there's great interest in what to expect from Winning Time season 3. Taking the story of how men like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson made the Lakers one of the most successful franchises in NBA history, the first two seasons of Winning Time were actually quite controversial. Based on the book Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s by Jeff Pearlman, several former Lakers players, including those portrayed in the Max series, have complained about the inaccuracies in the first two seasons of Winning Time.
