As both a long-running comic and a beloved TV institution, The Walking Dead remains the definitive word in today's zombie fiction. Creator Robert Kirkman (alongside original artist Tony Moore, and series artist Charlie Adlard) worked on both the original comic and its adaptation, and hasn't been shy in sharing his thoughts on zombie fiction, heaping praise on the work of George A. Romero. Edgar Wright's beloved zom-com Shaun of the Dead – starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost – is a totally different take on the genre than Kirkman's vast, character-driven drama, and fans might expect Kirkman to dismiss its place in the undead canon.
