Lies of P has many characters you'll meet during different quests, with some giving you the option to lie or tell the truth, with these choices leading to all the different endings in the game and a few rare items. NPCs are greatly affected by what you say to them, with their stories branching to paths determined from specific conversations. Although it seems like puppets are unable to lie, Pinocchio's special nature could lead to many outcomes.
