Gunmen kill three vigilantes in Edo

Three members of the Edo State Security Network were on Thursday night shot dead by unknown gunmen in Okhun Community, Ovia North-East Local Government Area of the state.
The hoodlums who, according to eyewitnesses, numbered over 10 invaded the community and shot the victims who were on duty.
City Round gathered that the ugly incident according to some sources was not unconnected with leadership tussle in the community, while others suspected a cult reprisal attack.
In a viral video, a member of the ESSN who introduced himself simply as ‘commander Small Baba,’ who sustained a wound on his right hand said he escaped the hoodlum attack by whiskers.
“Today (Thursday night), we got information that some hoodlums were shooting sporadically in Okhun community. We swung into action immediately upon receiving the information.
“But we were attacked by the hoodlums. They killed three of my men in the process. I was also shot by the hoodlums, but I managed to escape,” he said.
Recently, two persons were killed in Okhun community, an incident that later degenerated into a cult clash in the area. No fewer than 10 persons have so far lost their lives in the violent attacks.
