For the past couple of years, Colossus has been mind-controlled, under the influence of his brother, Mikhail Rasputin. Mikhail's scheme was unveiled at the end of X-Force #43, when Mikhail, Colossus, and his X-Force comrades found themselves all traveling together through an unregistered Krakoan Gate, during the Mutant Massacre on Krakoa.
