Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) may be most remembered for being Captain of the USS Enterprise-D on Star Trek: The Next Generation, but he commanded the USS Stargazer for 22 years before taking over the Federation's flagship. Picard served as a bridge officer on the Stargazer until he took over command in 2333 after the captain and first officer were killed. At the time, Jean-Luc was one of the youngest captains in Starfleet, and his time aboard the Stargazer would inform many of his command decisions moving forward.
