Marvel Studios has used several recent projects to set up the storyline for its next major crossover event, the MCU Phase 6's Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige announced the development of two crossover films for the MCU's Phase 6 at SDCC 2022, The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, expected to bring the Multiverse Saga to a close in 2027. While Avengers: Secret Wars could involve a multiverse-spanning adventure with many returning characters from the MCU and other franchises, many suspect Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will mark the formation of the MCU's New Avengers team in a battle against Kang the Conqueror and his many nefarious variants.
