The Star Wars Legends continuity enhances the viewing experience of Return of the Jedi in a multitude of fascinating ways. Return of the Jedi celebrates its 40th Anniversary in 2023, and while the Star Wars Legends continuity (formerly known as the Expanded Universe) became an alternate timeline in April 2014, its plethora of comic books, video games, novels, and other spinoff materials recontextualize the characters and lore of Return of the Jedi.
