Christmas movies are a contentious subject, and everyone has their favorite, but there are some that are so iconic that they deserve a spot as the best of the best. These are the Christmas movies that do not attempt to go dark, twist Christmas tales, or appeal to only a small demographic. Movies set at Christmastime that don’t have Christmas as a major focus are also excluded (which excludes any potentially controversial inclusion of Die Hard!). And while there are plenty of animated Christmas movies that are truly excellent, the most iconic are all live-action.
