Wicked: Part One has its release date updated, with the film now set to release sooner than its previous Christmas 2024 date. The film will be the first of a two-part adaptation of Gregory Maguire's novel of the same name, which explores the lives of the witches of Oz prior to the events of The Wizard of Oz. Wicked gained popularity after being adapted into a musical stage play, which will act as the basis for the upcoming film adaptation.
