Entertainers should support people — GT Da Guitarman

Singer and guitarist, Olugbemiro Tokunbo, aka GT Da Guitarman, has urged fellow entertainers to always stand on the side of the people, not their oppressors.

He told Sunday Scoop, “When it comes to politics, choosing sides has its merits and demerits. But, I have always believed that being neutral is the best thing to do, because I am for everyone’s happiness. As for me, I will always stand with the people. It is only a fool that will go against the power of the people, even if the people are not aware of their power. No force in the world can stand against the power of the people. It is really not my job to tell any entertainer who to support, but it is only right for one to support the people; not their oppressors.”

The singer also maintained that those deep lyrics were not as appreciated as they should. He said, “While I agree that there are people who still listen to deep lyrics from artistes such as Johnny Drille and Adekunle Gold, many people don’t have the attention span anymore. However, the beauty of the Internet is that everyone can now have their own audiences.”

The singer also stated that he had been working on an Extended Play album, which he had intended to release in January 2023, but had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. GT also stated that he had set a target for himself to win the prestigious Grammy Awards in a few years.
