Universal Pictures has announced a new entry in the Despicable Me franchise, and Despicable Me 4 is understandably generating lots of questions. Beginning with Despicable Me (2010), the $3.7-billion franchise has grown to become one of the highest-grossing of all time. Sequels and even spin-off prequels are consistently pumped out in two to three-year intervals, ensuring the series remains popular. In between the Despicable Me movies, themed books, video games, and short films have also been released. Amidst the pandemic, the franchise continues to thrive, with the anticipated premiere of Despicable Me 4.
