Bauchi crash kills three passengers, injures nine

A crash on Monday claimed the lives of three persons and injured nine other victims at Gada Data Village along Bauchi-Kano Road, in the Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the crash which occurred around 12.13 am involved a Hummer bus conveying 22 passengers.

The victims comprised nine male adults, seven female adults, four male children and two female children.

According to a statement by the Federal Road Safety Corps, Bauchi State Sector Command, the commercial bus has a number plate, GKA519 XA.

The statement said the incident was reported at 12.23am and immediately, the FRSC personnel rushed to the scene of the crash for a rescue operation.

They rushed the victims, five male adults, three female adults, two male children and two female children to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, for confirmation and treatment.

The statement said a medical doctor at the hospital confirmed three of the victims comprising two male adults and one female child dead, adding that nine of the victims sustained varying degrees of injury during the crash.

“The corpses were deposited at the ATBUTH mortuary after which they would be released to their relatives for burial,” the statement said.
