Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin recently appeared on the set of The Masked Singer season 9 ahead of its premiere. The show concluded its eighth season in December, crowning Amber Riley, the Harp, as the winner, making her the first contestant to win both The Masked Singer and Dancing With The Stars. So far, The Masked Singer‘s revealed nine of its costumes for the season, including Doll, Gargoyle, and Jackalope. The season will continue with the theme nights it introduced last season, and this time will feature ABBA night, New York night, Superhero night, Sesame Street night, Country night, and 80s night.
However, before The Masked Singer season 9 premieres, news has broken that Damar Hamlin will make a special guest appearance.
According to TMZ, Damar appeared on stage during a taping on Tuesday, January 31st. In photos provided by the publication, the NFL player holds a football with his other hand on his chest as he stands next to host Nick Cannon on The Masked Singer stage. TMZ also reports that Damar attended the taping with his younger brother Damir Hamlin because he’s a big fan of the competition series.
About a month ago, Damar suffered cardiac arrest on the field and was discharged from the hospital nine days later. The athlete shared a video on social media thanking his fans for all their support during his recovery. The Masked Singer season 9 will welcome back panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger as they guess which celebrities are hiding behind the costumes. Last season Jodie Sweetin, Danielle Fishel, and Lance Bass were all guest stars on The Masked Singer. It’s unclear from the photos which theme night Damar will appear on.
While there isn’t much other information about Damar’s appearance, the news is only building more excitement for the upcoming season. There will likely be other famous faces making guest appearances and just as many exciting guest panelists as there always are. With the Super Bowl airing just three days before The Masked Singer season 9, football fans are in for a treat if Damar shows up during the season premiere. It’s good to see that he is doing better and felt healthy enough to stop by The Masked Singer set.
Neither Damar nor Nick seem to be dressed for any of the theme nights, though Nick is still dressed to impress as always. This narrows down the episodes the football player can appear in, as it seems obvious he’s not showing up during ABBA night or Superhero night. While it seems a little late in filming for The Masked Singer to be filming the premiere, episodes aren’t necessarily filmed in order, which fans learned when the Rudy Giuliani spoilers leaked, so there’s a chance Damar may make an appearance during The Masked Singer season 9 episode 1. Whenever he does appear, fans will be excited to see the star on the show.
