Progressive Review of Pet Insurance 2023 – Forbes Advisor

Pet insurance coverage does not begin immediately after you enroll and pay your premium. You will have to beat the waiting period before it will activate.

The Pets Best Progressive plan has three waiting periods:

  • Accidents: three days
  • Illnesses: 14 days
  • Cruciate ligament problems: six months

Most insurers have a 14-day sick waiting period, so Progressive’s coverage is standard. However, some insurers, including Spot and ASPCA Pet Insurance, have two-week accident waiting periods, giving Progressive pet insurance an advantage in this category.

Like Progressive, many insurers have a long waiting period for cruciate ligament problems. However, some do not, so if your pet’s breed is prone to these problems, Progressive might not be your best option.
