Griffin Technologies academies host family luncheon and registration open house – Times-Herald

Griffin Technology Academies is hosting a new Family Luncheon and Registration Open House on Saturday, January 28.

A new family luncheon social to meet current families and staff will begin at 1 p.m. Families are encouraged to learn more about the enrollment and admissions process at an open house beginning at 2 p.m. Both events They are free to the public and will take place at the MIT Academy located at Lugar Positivo 2 in Vallejo.

“We are excited to kick off our new student registration period and invite families across Vallejo to learn more about our amazing schools,” Superintendent Nick Driver said in a news release. “We recognize that parents have a difficult decision when choosing the best school for their children. That’s why we encourage prospective families to meet members of our school community and get their questions answered. We are confident that GTA schools will meet the expectations of parents and the needs of students.”

Griffin Technology Academies includes two middle schools and two high schools that serve Vallejo students in grades six through twelve. New enrollment for the 2023-24 academic year begins now and runs through February 24.

If GTA receives more enrollment applications than space allows, then, per state law, a public lottery will be held on February 25 to determine which students will enroll.

Everyone who attends the lunch social and registration open house will be entered into a drawing to receive free school supplies. During the open house, parents will receive the necessary registration information, a detailed admissions process, and support available to enroll their students.

“Our mission is to prepare students to be college, career and life ready through diverse and innovative instructional programs that relentlessly focus on student academic achievement and social and emotional well-being,” Driver explained. . “We offer students four amazing schools that are tailored to their grade level and academic pursuits. We look forward to welcoming new families to the GTA school community.”
