The Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday confirmed the arrest of two suspected cultists, Bada Bayo and Segun Ogundele.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement, said the suspects were arrested during a stop-and-search patrol in the Ajah area of the state.

He said an English Beretta pistol with seven rounds of live ammunition was recovered while policemen were searching the suspects’ vehicle, adding that they would be charged to court after investigation.

He said, “Officers of the Ajah division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two men, Bada Bayo and Segun Ogundele, both aged 45, along the Budo Specialist Hospital Road, Ajah, Lagos State.

“The suspects were arrested after policemen on a routine patrol flagged down their vehicle, an unregistered Mercedes saloon car, for a search.

“After a search of the suspects and the vehicle, an English Beretta pistol with seven rounds of live ammunition, was found in their possession.

“Investigation reveals that the suspects are cultists. Meanwhile, further investigation is ongoing to unravel more details about the suspects, their activities and source of firearms. Suspects would be arraigned at the conclusion of investigation.”
