Little People Big World: Zach Gets His Son To Tell Matt They’re Moving

A snippet of the Little People, Big World season 23 premiere showed Zach Roloff enlisting his four-year-old son, Jackson, to tell his dad, Matt Roloff, of his and Tori Roloff’s decision to relocate. The Roloffs have lived in their amazing Portland, Oregon home for years. Zach and his wife Tori, who share daughter Lilah, two, and sons Jackson and Josiah, have made beautiful memories in their Portland digs. The 2,600-square-foot home includes a two-car garage, sizable front porch, spacious primary bedroom, an in-ground swimming pool, and an outdoor lounge. But, most importantly, the home was just a 10-minute drive to the Roloff family’s famous farm. It was also located close to Amy Roloff’s house, so Jackson and Lilah could easily visit their grandparents.

However, despite crossing many milestones in Portland, Zach and Tori, both 31, shocked many fans when the mom of three announced via social media in October 2021 that her family decided to ditch their Portland home for Washington State. Tori told her followers that she was “beyond exhausted” after preparing for the move. Although she looked forward to a new adventure in Washington, she revealed that the decision to change location was hard. Tori noted that she and her family made several beautiful memories in Portland, where they have settled for years, and their greenhouse would be missed.

While many fans may have believed that Tori and Zach decided to explore Washington because they must have craved a change of environment, that doesn’t seem to have been the case. In a recently released teaser for the famous TLC show made available to Us Magazine, Zach and Tori told his dad, Matt, about their relocation plans. However, this happened after the men had a heated argument over their Oregon farm. Afterward, things got more intense when Zach told Jackson to tell his grandparents about his and Tori’s decision to move to Battle Ground, Washington. The couple was quite insistent on moving out and were unprepared to listen to what any other family member had to say about it. It is not clear how Matt felt about Zach and his family’s move to Washington, but his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, said in a confessional interview, “It was weird. I mean, who the f–k does that?”

Meanwhile, during a confessional interview, Matt, 60, explained that he and Zach were on different pages during the Oregon farm negotiation. He added that his son was making demands instead of negotiating. However, Zach’s stance was quite different from his father’s. The Oregon native believed his dad was the reason the deal didn’t go through. Zach noted that his father wanted to be in control, and he wasn’t ready to let him dictate the terms. The women in the family also shared their views. Caryn was upset that the tension had driven a wedge between the family, while Tori said, “It’s awkward.”

Tori and Zach may miss living in Portland, but it doesn’t seem like they would have changed their decision to relocate for anything. However, Zach’s move may only lead to a big rift between him and his father, as the men already have a dispute over their Oregon farm. While the Roloff women are not happy that Zach and Matt’s disagreement has caused a division in the family, there is only so much they can do. Unfortunately, Zach and his dad seem to be at loggerheads with all that played out in the Little People, Big World premiere snippet. Fans have to wait for when the show eventually begins to discover how they resolved their differences.
